The Greco
Carlo Greco built guitars for John Denver, Paul Simon, Eric Clapton, and others
in the heyday of acoustic guitars.  I was fortunate enough to find this on Ebay at
a very reasonable price.  It has a lot of checking because the previous owner did
not take care of it, but the sound is awesome.  Locally, Gary Flowers, who builds
custom jazz guitars in an old warehouse in downtown Baltimore, re-arranged the
set-up and the guitar now plays like a dream.  And the sound is awesome.  It will
cut right through a herd of Martin dreadnaughts like nobody's business.
Carlo Greco built two of the three most important guitars in one person's opinion.

  The Headstock

The checking from the previous owner leaving it near an open window and a heat radiator during a
New York winter is obvious...but doesn't affect the sound or playability one bit.

This guy next to me is really, really good, both as a guitarist and a vocalist.  A privilege and an honor to play with him.  Of note, the headstock of the Greco looks almost like a "C".  I wonder if Carlo did that intentionally.
