Text Box: A blue moon is the second full moon in a month.  There can never be a blue moon in February.
Blue moons occur every two and a half to three years.
Because once in a Blue Moon...

...there's a Blue Moon Run on the NCR Trail!  Last Blue Moon Run was in 2004.
2007 Details are listed below.

Date: Friday Night, June 1, 2007
Time: 10:00 PM
Place: Paper Moon Road Parking Lot, NCR Trail
Distance:  7 Miles or Less, you decide
Course: Runners head northbound on the NCR Trail to Sparks Road.  Turn-around at the Sparks Road Crossing Gate and return.
Early turn-arounds permitted.

This is a  non-competitive, non-scored fun run.

Rules: No headlights, no flashlights allowed.
Absolutely no dogs and no baby-strollers.  It will be difficult enough to contend with runners without worrying about leashes, wheeled vehicles, and so forth.

Runners will be issued glowsticks, not to see with, but in order to see runners headed toward them at the turn-around and avoid collision.

Post-run party in the NCR Parking Lot after the runners return.

Cost- $10 pre-registered, $15 race-night.  A limited number of Blue Moon Run shirts will be available for an additional $10. The shirt design is a raven against the moon.  I will post a sneak preview here if available.

Packet pickup will be at Falls Road Running Stores in Mount Washington and in Fells Point on Friday, June 1, 2007, from 11 - 6.  Pre-run packet pickup will start in the NCR parking lot at 8:00 PM.

SPECIAL NOTE:  This parking lot is normally closed to users after sunset, and law enforcement officials will issue parking tickets. HOWEVER, participants in this event will be issued special parking passes allowing them to use the parking lot after hours for this event only.  This is part of your race-packet.

Car-pooling is highly encouraged.
