Jim Adams, founder of the Falls Road Running Store, has a special place in his heart for the McVets Races.
A combat veteran of the United States Army, Jim served as a communications officer in Korea and with various units in the 82nd Airborne Division.  Later  he became the commanding officer of The Signal Company, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne).  His awards and decorations from military service include the Bronze Star, Master Parachutist Badge, and Ranger Tab.
His nephews served in Iraq with the 256th BCT.  Brandon won a Bronze Star and was awarded a Purple Heart.
In addition to running the McVets 10K, Jim set his ten-mile PR of 59:44 at the Army Ten-Miler and has used the Marine Corps Marathon as a Boston qualifier on several occasions. Falls Road Running will sponsor special incentives for military personnel to run the McVets 10K.
